Kyle & Janessa’s wedding day felt like the real first day of fall weather. It was perfection, just like their ceremony and celebration of their commitment to each other. I LOVED getting to know these two. It is obvious how in love Kyle & Janessa are and you could feel that excitement and love on their wedding day. I’m not sure they ever took their eyes off each other. It was just the sweetest!
How fun is this one year smash session?! When Kimmy’s mama told me she wanted to do a Mac Smash for Kimberly’s birthday session, I got so excited! Carbs and cheese. Who doesn’t love that?!
I kept it simple & dyed elbow macaroni and designed a hanging curtain type garland to bring pops of color. Kimmy was just the cutest digging into her cheesy goodness!
I also incorporated my antique red velvet couch into her one year session — every photo session since her mama’s maternity photos we have incorporated the couch, so it only seemed fitting to do it again. It is so fun comparing those newborn photos to her six month shots to now!
Here are some favorite shots from her Mac Smash & photo session:
Let’s all just take a moment to appreciate the twirl capabilities of Laura’s gorg wedding gown. Swoon worthy, right?! Laura was a stunning bride and that dress was just made for her.
Eric & Laura’s ceremony was at a quaint Catholic church that had the most gorgeous wooden beams and stain glass windows. The light was a dream to work with & made for some beautiful images during their ceremony and also for photos after the ceremony. We headed to the train depot after the ceremony for pics and then to Adrian College to wrap up wedding party shots before the reception started on campus.
We had crazy weather — sun, then completely cloudy, then pouring rain, then sun again — which made for a wonderful variety for photos. Here’s some faves from Mr. & Mrs. Ford’s amazing day:
How sweet is little Ella?! She was such a happy girl for her six month session here at the farm! We had a gorgeous fall sunset and the light was just too perfect! I have lots of favorites of this little lady and I'm excited to share.
We did a few shots of Ella in the studio on my antique velvet couch and then moved to the barn to get that nice evening light coming through the barn wood. Ella was such a trooper as we trekked around the farm, chasing light and getting lots of variety for her sitter session. I think my absolute favorite photos ended up being the very last ones we did as the sun sank below the horizon though. It's hard to beat that orange, golden light.
Here's a few photos of Ella at six months old!
Oh, these two sweet girls! Luckily, I am pregnant so the baby fever Mila and Ella gave me can be cured here in about a month's time or so. Ha!
These two little ladies are just too precious and darling. They both totally rocked their first photo session and made my job so so easy. We got through quite a few set ups, so I have lots to share from their studio newborn session.
I think my favorite shot is the one their mama requested -- them in the wooden box I used to take their older brother's newborn photos in. They were just so relaxed when they were next to each other and it is heart melting. The sister shots of them together are easily my favorite photos from their session. There is nothing quite like that twin bond.
Welcome earth side Mila and Ella!
Abby & Austin's engagement session was so adorable! Lots of giggles and laughs, which you can tell from the images. They are such a great couple and I enjoyed getting to know them during our time together chasing the sunlight and snapping shots of them in love!
We had a gorgeous sunset and that light streamed into the hay mow in the barn beautifully. It's one of my favorite shots from their session, but I know I'm totally biased towards barn shots. Ha!
Abby had also requested going out to the pasture with our cattle for some photos as the sun sank into the horizon. I loved the light we got out there with the cows. It was hard to narrow down which ones to include in this post.
Congrats to Austin and Abby!
Lexi's senior session was one of my favorite senior shoots of the year; all the stars aligned and we had perfect the perfect temperature, a beautiful golden hour and a very well behaved horse.
One of my engagement clients was kind enough to bring their horse Sammy back to the farm for part of Lexi's senior session and it was just magical. Sammy is an old pro and Lexi was so comfortable with him. I love incorporated animals into sessions and this was no exception. I loved it so much!
Lexi took such fantastic direction and was willing to try all my crazy ideas, but I think we got some fantastic shots because of it! Here are just a few of my favorites (it was SO hard to narrow them down because I pretty much love them all!) of Lexi's boho senior session here at the farm....
