This little sweetheart was a dream during his very first photo shoot and we got through so many sets and poses! My favorite was Brayden in ACUs with his name on the hat. I think it was his dad’s favorite, too!
Aw, little Ella! I loved this sweet girl's vintage farmhouse newborn shoot here at the studio. She was such a peach & pretty much slept her entire session! We got through quite a few different set ups and props to give a good variety to her gallery.
I absolutely love the shots of her with her proud older sister! So much love! Big sis did so well & it was pretty obvious she is just smitten with her new baby sister Ella.
Here are some highlights from Ella's first photo shoot....
This beautiful gal was such a pleasure to photograph. We did Mallory's senior shoot here on the farm and it was so fun incorporating some of her interest into the rustic, farm feel she wanted!
We have a super old basketball court on one of the properties where my in laws' old farmhouse used to be, so it was perfect for her sports shots and still keeping those rustic vibes. We also headed down to the river and braved mosquitos for some shots with the River Raisin as the backdrop.
Here are some favorite shots from this pretty lady's senior session here on the farm...
This fall sunrise family session was just so perfect. From the outfits this mama planned for the family, to the dewy grass, to the beautiful sunlight, it all came together beautifully!
We had planned on a sunset session for this day, but for whatever reason, the late September weather here in Michigan decided to be 90 degrees for the week so we switched to sunrise to spare everyone getting over heated in their fall wardrobe. I'm so glad we did!
Here are some highlights from the Pizana Crew's sunrise family session here at Terry Farms!
We had such wonderful golden light for the Love family's sunset session in one of our Queen Anne's Lace fields here on the farm. The kids were such troopers too as we moved from one spot to the next. The wooden swing I have is always a nice incentive for the kiddos during sessions, too ;)
We got a lot of spots around the farm in before the sun sank below the horizon -- barns, the Queen Anne's field, the old '55 Dodge farm truck and the wooden swing. It's always great to get a little variety in for family sessions and it keeps things moving along for the kids. Something new to do!
Here are some favorites from the Love family's golden hour session...
How adorable is little Cora and that head full of hair?! Cora was my first newborn girl session after 10 straight newborn baby boys! I enjoyed pulling out the floral wraps, headbands and bonnets and planning a more feminine session for her.
Cora's mama brought a knit cow hat and leg warmers for one set up and it was so much fun doing that set! You know how I love cows ;) It took a little while to get Cora settled in the pose and it was well worth it because I just love how the shots turned out.
Here's some favorites from this sweet little lady's first photo session....
How adorable are these two lovebirds? We had some crazy weather for their engagement session here at the farm with some January fog. It made for some really fun, cool shots though!
I am so excited for their upcoming wedding in September and cannot wait to capture it! Here are some favorites of mine from Eric and Laura's engagement session....
Little Tucker was such a great baby for his first ever photo session here at the farmhouse studio! He gave some adorable shots awake and then pretty much slept the rest of his shoot. We got through quite a few set ups in a short amount of time thanks to how sleepy he was!
I think the crate with the navy wool and wrap is my favorite from Tucker's gallery. I love the color agains the wood and how the grey bonnet pairs with it. Tucker's stat shot was a fun one to set up and antlers were requested, so I came up with quite a few different sets with the antlers in the studio!
Welcome to the world Mr. Tucker Adam!
This was such a fun family session to shoot here on the farm this past summer! The Queen Anne's lace was perfect! I think those photos were my favorite from the Brindamour Crew's gallery.
Even though it was overcast, there was still great light peaking through the barn wood. I just love the way it photographs!
Here are just a few highlights from this summer family session...
I'm so glad we got Kelsey's maternity photos in before her sweet baby girl arrived a few weeks later! How amazing does this mama look?! It only seemed fitting to share these bump photos on the day Nathan and Kelsey's little lady is in the studio for her first photo shoot! I can't wait to share some sneak peeks from the studio newborn session today over on the Facebook page!
I typically do maternity session outdoors on the farm, but it was soooooo cold this day, we did a majority of Kelsey's maternity photos in the studio which worked out perfectly because I had a vision with this new maternity gown I had and Kelsey got to try it out for me!
Here are just a few favorites from the maternity session. Can't wait to share photos from the newborn session, so stay tuned!
I love all the candid cuteness we got during this adorable family's session! So many giggles and grins from these two boys!
We stuck by the barns, bean field and my '55 Dodge farm truck for this shoot and I love how it turned out paired with the wardrobe Nicole chose for her family! Here are a few favorites from this fun family session...
Oh, the golden light during this adorable family's session was enough to make my photographer heart sing. Add in adorable little Sadie and how much my camera just adored that little girl and it was such the perfect session!
I have lots of favorites to share, but I have to applaud Lola the Labrador for her patience and cooperation during our session. We did a lot of walking and exploring around the farm to find great spots to snap some photos and she was all for it!
I'll stop talking and let you see the Stasa Crew's session!
Isn't little Leah such a doll?! Look at those sweet cheeks! She rocked her three month session here at the farmhouse studio.
Mom requested a bell shot I've done with a few of my newborns around Christmas time and I adjusted it to work for Leah since she is by no means a wee little newbie anymore. Mom also loves my vintage velvet couch, so we did some fun shots with it against the barn wood wall.
So many favorites from this cutie's sessions and here are just a few...
Oh, sweet, sweet Elle! Look at those squishy cheeks! Her mama informed me the decor of their home is farmhouse all the way, so I pulled out all the rustic stuff for this little lady's newborn session at the farmhouse studio.
I took the gator to the studio that morning so I could stop along the lane and pick some wildflowers for Elle's photos. They added the subtle, feminine touch to some sets.
Her big sis Penny got in a couple shots and stole my heart with her adorable outfit, red hair and beautiful smile! Such a great big sis that Penny already is!
Here are so sweet shots from Elle's newborn session I wanted to share with you all!
The Taylor family had the most beautiful evening for their sunset session here at the farm! Great light, gorgeous sky and lots of sweet smiles and laughs.
I always strive to provide a fun experience for clients, especially when they are having their session done here on our farm. There is a lot to explore and I love capturing those candid moments, especially with children and families as we go around the farm and its hidden little treasure spots.
I think we got quite a few sweet candid moments of the Taylor family along with those classic portraits, too. The kids were on their game and the smiles were just pouring out of them the whole time!
Here's a few favorites from the Taylor family's rustic farm session.
Oh, little Kate! She was such a doll during her session with her little sister Ella this summer. Between the swing and the flowers I brought along, she was having a ball, which is just what I wanted! I think you can almost feel her joy looking at some of the photos out in the field. I know I can!
Ella wasn't so sure about me, but her mama knew how to get those smiles to come out and I think we got some sweet ones of her, too! And the shots of the girls hugging and kissing? It makes my mama heart melt!
Enjoy some favorites from Kate & Ella's sister session here at the farm!
This little lady was born premature and was three weeks old when she came to see me and was still under seven pounds! She totally rocked her first newborn session and pretty much slept THE whole time. I don't think she opened her eyes until the very end when we did photos with mom and dad.
Dad loves to hunt, so we incorporated a fox pelt and deer antlers into some of Autumn's set ups. I used my absolute favorite vintage quilt to get some super feminine images of Autumn with a petite flower crown, as well. I used natural light for many of the shots and I think it worked well with the rustic look.
Welcome earth side, Little Autumn! Can't wait to see you for your three month session!
Ashley & Scott's sunset engagement session here at Terry Farms was AH-MAZING. Ashley wanted to include her horse she has had for more than 15 years and it really gave their engagement session that much more of a personal, sentimental touch. I now need to get a horse for photography business purposes ha!
We also incorporated Scott's truck for some images because their first date was sitting on the tailgate of his truck watching the sun go down and drinking a beer together. How sweet is that?!
These two make such a perfect couple and were up for whatever crazy idea I had. Such troopers! I love all the candid, intimate shots we were able to get and they are my favorite. I'm such a sucker for those!
Here's a look at some favorites from their farm engagement session! Congrats again to Scott & Ashley!
I was thrilled to be able to do a Mama & Me session for my very best friend Lauren who was visiting from across the country with her two kiddos Camden & Zoey last month!
We had a gorgeous evening for pictures after lots and lots of rain. The rain stopped and the clouds cleared to give us a beautiful sunset...and lots of mud to play in at the farm!
These are just a few of my favorites. I really tried to capture the candid, tender moments. As a mother, those are what I want to be able to look back on, especially at the ages Camden and Zoey are as toddlers.
Nolan pretty much rocked his first ever photo session. I got to try so many set ups with him in such a short amount of time because he slept through most of it!
Mom and Dad requested deer antlers (they are becoming my most popular newborn prop request!) and anything rustic. It was a lot of fun designing and planning his session and I'm excited to share these with you!
Getting those macro shots of newborn's tiny fingers, feet and lips are so fun! Babies change so quickly those first few weeks and months, it is so nice to document exactly how teeny tiny they are!
Mom had also asked about getting a shot of Nolan with one of our calves. For safety reasons, I don't do photos of newborns/infants/young children with our cattle or calves, but I do offer some photoshop magic to make it happen!
Our newborn calves were not cooperating when I tried to take some shots of them, so the Gust Family of Gust Brothers' Pumpkin Farm were gracious enough to let me get some photos of their days old bottle fed calves to use for Nolan's composite photo. So, please note that the photo of the calf and Nolan below is not real -- it's what is called a composite. I set Nolan in the right position at my studio to add him to the photo of the calf.
I always strive to give my clients what they want in their session, so I am so glad we were able to come up with this solution! Photoshop can be so fun!
