This little sweetheart was a dream during his very first photo shoot and we got through so many sets and poses! My favorite was Brayden in ACUs with his name on the hat. I think it was his dad’s favorite, too!
Aw, little Ella! I loved this sweet girl's vintage farmhouse newborn shoot here at the studio. She was such a peach & pretty much slept her entire session! We got through quite a few different set ups and props to give a good variety to her gallery.
I absolutely love the shots of her with her proud older sister! So much love! Big sis did so well & it was pretty obvious she is just smitten with her new baby sister Ella.
Here are some highlights from Ella's first photo shoot....
This fall sunrise family session was just so perfect. From the outfits this mama planned for the family, to the dewy grass, to the beautiful sunlight, it all came together beautifully!
We had planned on a sunset session for this day, but for whatever reason, the late September weather here in Michigan decided to be 90 degrees for the week so we switched to sunrise to spare everyone getting over heated in their fall wardrobe. I'm so glad we did!
Here are some highlights from the Pizana Crew's sunrise family session here at Terry Farms!
How adorable is little Cora and that head full of hair?! Cora was my first newborn girl session after 10 straight newborn baby boys! I enjoyed pulling out the floral wraps, headbands and bonnets and planning a more feminine session for her.
Cora's mama brought a knit cow hat and leg warmers for one set up and it was so much fun doing that set! You know how I love cows ;) It took a little while to get Cora settled in the pose and it was well worth it because I just love how the shots turned out.
Here's some favorites from this sweet little lady's first photo session....
Can we just stop and admire how adorable and beautiful Morgan is?! I had such a blast working with her, her mama and her grandma this fall at her grandparents' farm just down the road from my husband's aunt and uncle's pumpkin farm!
I could share every single image from her session because I love them all so much. It was hard to narrow down the top favorites to share here! We had a lot of variety in outfits and backdrops at the farm thanks to her grandma's amazing taste, decorating and landscaping.
We ended the session with Morgan and her favorite horse at the farm she has been riding since she was little. I love the candid shots I got of her interacting with him!
How adorable are these two lovebirds? We had some crazy weather for their engagement session here at the farm with some January fog. It made for some really fun, cool shots though!
I am so excited for their upcoming wedding in September and cannot wait to capture it! Here are some favorites of mine from Eric and Laura's engagement session....
Little Tucker was such a great baby for his first ever photo session here at the farmhouse studio! He gave some adorable shots awake and then pretty much slept the rest of his shoot. We got through quite a few set ups in a short amount of time thanks to how sleepy he was!
I think the crate with the navy wool and wrap is my favorite from Tucker's gallery. I love the color agains the wood and how the grey bonnet pairs with it. Tucker's stat shot was a fun one to set up and antlers were requested, so I came up with quite a few different sets with the antlers in the studio!
Welcome to the world Mr. Tucker Adam!
This was such a fun family session to shoot here on the farm this past summer! The Queen Anne's lace was perfect! I think those photos were my favorite from the Brindamour Crew's gallery.
Even though it was overcast, there was still great light peaking through the barn wood. I just love the way it photographs!
Here are just a few highlights from this summer family session...
What a dream day these two lovebirds got on the September day they tied the knot! Every little detail of their day was so perfect and I'm thrilled they chose me to capture and document their wedding day!
Their Catholic ceremony was so memorable! A unity candle wasn't an option due to new rules with the church, but Keaton and Ashley's priest decided to come up with a creative way to represent the union of these two beautiful people. I'll let the photos tell the story, but in a nutshell, it involved a glass beaker, South Patch Kids candy and a hand torch! They win most memorable ceremony I've photographed!
The exit was so fun to capture. When we did the engagement photos, we incorporated Ashley and Keaton's scooters in some of the shots. They love riding the scooters around town together and decided to incorporate it into their day by riding away as newlyweds together on them! All the guests loved it!
The new Mr. & Mrs. Hatch were married in a church right off campus from Lourdes University where the reception took place and we did a most of their photos after the ceremony. Ashley used to work on at the university and knew of some special spots she wanted to get photos with her new husband that were off the beaten path!
The architecture of the buildings were a dream come true for me to incorporate into their wedding party photos and just photos of the two of them. And Ashley and Keaton had secretly taken dancing lessons for their first dance and surprised all their guests with a beautiful performance that got them lots of applause and cheers, especially from table ten as you'll see!
I'll get straight to the photos and let you get a peek at the highlights from the wedding day....
Oh, sweet baby August! He was such a sweetie to cuddle and gave us a good mix of sleeping shots and wide awake shots.
The stat shot is my most requested set up for newborn sessions currently and it is so fun to tweak them to each baby. I've been using the original wood floors in the farmhouse studio for all these baby boy stat shots lately because it pairs so well with my boy props and swaddles. Dad likes to hunt, so they requested some antlers in August stat shot and it complimented the bowl and August's wrap so well!
I loved how the family images turned out. I like to keep it simple and do them on the seamless paper, which makes it easy to coordinate in frames and hanging on the walls at home with decor!
I had to do a set up with twinkle lights since August was born just before Christmas! I love the beautiful bokeh it adds to that profile shot! Here are a few more favorites from Mr. August's newborn session at the farmhouse studio!
Oh, sweet, sweet Elle! Look at those squishy cheeks! Her mama informed me the decor of their home is farmhouse all the way, so I pulled out all the rustic stuff for this little lady's newborn session at the farmhouse studio.
I took the gator to the studio that morning so I could stop along the lane and pick some wildflowers for Elle's photos. They added the subtle, feminine touch to some sets.
Her big sis Penny got in a couple shots and stole my heart with her adorable outfit, red hair and beautiful smile! Such a great big sis that Penny already is!
Here are so sweet shots from Elle's newborn session I wanted to share with you all!
This handsome hunk was such a dream to photograph! We got some many different looks and set ups and he slept through pretty much the entire session!
I got a new vegetable swaddle and had to try it out with Mr. Wade. I love how it turned out and all the vibrant colors the veggies brought to the final image.
Wade's mama had a couple crochet outfits for Wade and his big brother to wear for their photos together. When she told me she had fox and deer outfits, I just KNEW I needed to get the '55 Dodge farm truck out and create a little hunting set up for these shots. I adore how the photos turned out because those two brothers are just too too tooooooo cute!
This little lady was born premature and was three weeks old when she came to see me and was still under seven pounds! She totally rocked her first newborn session and pretty much slept THE whole time. I don't think she opened her eyes until the very end when we did photos with mom and dad.
Dad loves to hunt, so we incorporated a fox pelt and deer antlers into some of Autumn's set ups. I used my absolute favorite vintage quilt to get some super feminine images of Autumn with a petite flower crown, as well. I used natural light for many of the shots and I think it worked well with the rustic look.
Welcome earth side, Little Autumn! Can't wait to see you for your three month session!
I cannot pick just one or two favorites from Gabe's senior session here at the farm. But, if I HAD to, it would definitely be his shots with his pup Maggie. Dogs aren't called man's best friend for no reason and it's pretty apparent Maggie holds a special place in Gabe's heart.
We had a fantastic evening and it turned into quite the adventure! We swatted away what felt like thousands of mosquitos trekking through the woods along the river, got a vehicle stuck in the mud out in the pasture and then was photobombed by our mischievous cows. Is it possible for cows to be mischievous, because I swear mine are.
You never know what you are going to get into here, but I promise you it won't be dull!
How Ms. Effie is one whole year old this month is beyond me! I do know she is just a doll and such a trooper. Her mama and I talked a lot during her session, which meant it was a long shoot for Effie. But, you would never know it. She gave me all kinds of smiles and sweet faces!
The blue eyes are just stunning. Just like her mama's...who hopped in a few photos with her favorite little gal! I love when moms want to get in front of the camera with their kids. It is so important to have pictures of mamas with her little ones to look back on years down the road.
We incorporated Mom's wedding veil in a set up. Megan wanted to do something sentimental as part of Effie's one year photos and I love this unique touch, especially since it has such a sweet story to go along with it!
Effie's Grandma actually bought the veil in Spain before her OWN wedding! She wore it on her wedding day and then passed it along to Megan who also wore it on her wedding day. One day this veil will be passed down to Effie, and hopefully she will want to wear it on her own wedding day!
For Mother's Day, Megan gave her mom a framed collage that included a photo of her mom Cindy on her wedding day in the veil, a photo of herself wearing the veil the day she was married and the larger photo below of Effie smiling wearing the veil they both wore. I love including special heirlooms into sessions and this is a nice twist on the wedding dress with babies idea.
Happy first birthday to Effie!
I had a farm girl in the studio for her two year session! I swear we just did her one year photos!
Ella spotted a lady bug in the studio and, boy, did that little bug bring out the smiles from this pretty little lady. I'm going to keep some lady bugs on hand from now on!
Every Farm gal needs some photos on the peddle tractor in her cowboy boots and we did just that, plus some fun Easter photos in Mom's dress from when she was 2! I love those sentimental pieces we can incorporate into photos. They mean that much more!
Here are a few favorites from Ella's session!
Would you believe Ms. Josephine wasn't sure what to think about the studio, the camera OR me? She hung tight to her mama for a good portion of the time, but we snuck in some fun and got a few smiles.
This farm girl had to get some photos with the John Deere peddle tractor. It's become a favorite prop with a lot of clients with kids! It's also my son's and he is nice enough to share with me. Although, he did ask for me to bring it home the other day because it's getting warmer and he "probably wants to drive it around the barn and help with chores".
Happy first birthday, sweet Joey! You are one loved little lady!
Doesn't Bennett's eyes just slay you? So gorgeous. Speaking of gorgeous, how much does my camera love this kid? A lot. And I have the photos to prove it.
Bennett sat so well for being just six months old and made my job so easy. I love when babies stare right into the camera. I feel like you can really connect with the photo and see into their sweet, little souls. And this guy, he sure has a sweet soul!
Can you get over those curly locks? I cannot! I thought he had a head full of curls at his six month session, but boy oh boy, this makes those curls look like amateur hour. Ha!
Bowden was such a good little guy during his portrait session at the new studio. I incorporated some props from his six month pictures for fun, like the antlers and vintage pick up truck toy. After a lot of little girl sessions lately, it was fun to design some sets for a little guy!
Happy first birthday, Bowden!
Who would have thought we would be doing a six month session outside in FEBRUARY?! Not me! What's with this midwest weather? I'm not sure, but I will certainly take it!
I think Brady enjoyed the warm, fresh air, too because he was pretty excited for his six month photos!
It's always great to catch up with good friends while capturing their family! Once Brady let us know he was done with having his picture taken, I snapped a couple of his mama and older sister who were acting too sweet not to get a few quick pictures of that love! Candid photos are my favorite!
