This little sweetheart was a dream during his very first photo shoot and we got through so many sets and poses! My favorite was Brayden in ACUs with his name on the hat. I think it was his dad’s favorite, too!
Aw, little Ella! I loved this sweet girl's vintage farmhouse newborn shoot here at the studio. She was such a peach & pretty much slept her entire session! We got through quite a few different set ups and props to give a good variety to her gallery.
I absolutely love the shots of her with her proud older sister! So much love! Big sis did so well & it was pretty obvious she is just smitten with her new baby sister Ella.
Here are some highlights from Ella's first photo shoot....
How adorable is little Cora and that head full of hair?! Cora was my first newborn girl session after 10 straight newborn baby boys! I enjoyed pulling out the floral wraps, headbands and bonnets and planning a more feminine session for her.
Cora's mama brought a knit cow hat and leg warmers for one set up and it was so much fun doing that set! You know how I love cows ;) It took a little while to get Cora settled in the pose and it was well worth it because I just love how the shots turned out.
Here's some favorites from this sweet little lady's first photo session....
Little Tucker was such a great baby for his first ever photo session here at the farmhouse studio! He gave some adorable shots awake and then pretty much slept the rest of his shoot. We got through quite a few set ups in a short amount of time thanks to how sleepy he was!
I think the crate with the navy wool and wrap is my favorite from Tucker's gallery. I love the color agains the wood and how the grey bonnet pairs with it. Tucker's stat shot was a fun one to set up and antlers were requested, so I came up with quite a few different sets with the antlers in the studio!
Welcome to the world Mr. Tucker Adam!
I'm so glad we got Kelsey's maternity photos in before her sweet baby girl arrived a few weeks later! How amazing does this mama look?! It only seemed fitting to share these bump photos on the day Nathan and Kelsey's little lady is in the studio for her first photo shoot! I can't wait to share some sneak peeks from the studio newborn session today over on the Facebook page!
I typically do maternity session outdoors on the farm, but it was soooooo cold this day, we did a majority of Kelsey's maternity photos in the studio which worked out perfectly because I had a vision with this new maternity gown I had and Kelsey got to try it out for me!
Here are just a few favorites from the maternity session. Can't wait to share photos from the newborn session, so stay tuned!
Baby Lucas' rustic Christmas newborn session was a lot of fun to plan. I love the twinkle lights and his little Santa hat!
Luke pretty much rocked his first photo session and slept a majority of the time. We got through quite a few set ups. Mom and Dad do a summer fruit and veggie CSA, so it was only fitting to get out my veggies swaddle and do a little veggie set for him!
Proud big brother Josh even decided to take some photos with his new baby brother and was willing to give him kisses for me to capture! How darling is that?!
Welcome little Luke! You are one sweet little man!
Oh, sweet baby August! He was such a sweetie to cuddle and gave us a good mix of sleeping shots and wide awake shots.
The stat shot is my most requested set up for newborn sessions currently and it is so fun to tweak them to each baby. I've been using the original wood floors in the farmhouse studio for all these baby boy stat shots lately because it pairs so well with my boy props and swaddles. Dad likes to hunt, so they requested some antlers in August stat shot and it complimented the bowl and August's wrap so well!
I loved how the family images turned out. I like to keep it simple and do them on the seamless paper, which makes it easy to coordinate in frames and hanging on the walls at home with decor!
I had to do a set up with twinkle lights since August was born just before Christmas! I love the beautiful bokeh it adds to that profile shot! Here are a few more favorites from Mr. August's newborn session at the farmhouse studio!
Oh, Mr. Eddie! This handsome cowboy is one of my Watch Me Grow babies and I cannot believe he is a year old. His birthday theme was cowboy (obviously, look at this kiddo and his cattle) and we had a lot of fun in studio and out on the farm capturing this guy at one year old.
We did a cupcake smash to celebrate Eddie's big milestone and he wasn't quite sure cake was for him, but it was cute none-the-less! I think he much preferred playing cowboy and hanging out in the old farm truck outside by the corn crib. We got lots of smiles doing both of those activities!
Happy ONE YEAR, Cowboy Eddie!
Isn't little Leah such a doll?! Look at those sweet cheeks! She rocked her three month session here at the farmhouse studio.
Mom requested a bell shot I've done with a few of my newborns around Christmas time and I adjusted it to work for Leah since she is by no means a wee little newbie anymore. Mom also loves my vintage velvet couch, so we did some fun shots with it against the barn wood wall.
So many favorites from this cutie's sessions and here are just a few...
Oh, sweet, sweet Elle! Look at those squishy cheeks! Her mama informed me the decor of their home is farmhouse all the way, so I pulled out all the rustic stuff for this little lady's newborn session at the farmhouse studio.
I took the gator to the studio that morning so I could stop along the lane and pick some wildflowers for Elle's photos. They added the subtle, feminine touch to some sets.
Her big sis Penny got in a couple shots and stole my heart with her adorable outfit, red hair and beautiful smile! Such a great big sis that Penny already is!
Here are so sweet shots from Elle's newborn session I wanted to share with you all!
Look at this cutie pie! He has changed so much since I saw him at three months old! We went with a vintage theme for Lincoln's one year session complete with blocks, quilts, an old fan and an old tonka truck.
His birthday party is The Very Hungry Caterpillar, so we added some vibrant pops of color to pay tribute to his fun party. Here are just adorable ones from his birthday photo shoot.
I know I am totally biased because I am her aunt and all, but little Raegan is the cutest. She did awesome for her six month photos, so we went ahead and tried some family shots since she was in such great spirits. It's a far cry from her newborn session which lasted five hours and she cried anytime I unswaddled her. Ha!
Here are a few of my favorites of my sweet little niece and my brother and sis-in-law who were so sweet and came up to visit for a quick weekend so I could take Raegan's six month photos!
This little lady was born premature and was three weeks old when she came to see me and was still under seven pounds! She totally rocked her first newborn session and pretty much slept THE whole time. I don't think she opened her eyes until the very end when we did photos with mom and dad.
Dad loves to hunt, so we incorporated a fox pelt and deer antlers into some of Autumn's set ups. I used my absolute favorite vintage quilt to get some super feminine images of Autumn with a petite flower crown, as well. I used natural light for many of the shots and I think it worked well with the rustic look.
Welcome earth side, Little Autumn! Can't wait to see you for your three month session!
I did this beauty's newborn and six month photos and I have so enjoyed getting to watch her grow! While she has changed so much since that newborn session, she still has those show stopper blue eyes and the ability to make my camera love her!
In an ode to her six month session that was gold and pink, we did a set up that was similar for fun! The weather also cooperated and we were able to do part of her portraits out by the barns which was perfect to go with her first birthday theme: butterflies! I did some editing in photoshop to add the butterflies with Allison to give a bit of a magical touch on a couple photos.
I am thrilled I was able to capture Allison's first year and enjoyed watching this little darling grow into a toddler! Happy first birthday, Allison!
How Ms. Effie is one whole year old this month is beyond me! I do know she is just a doll and such a trooper. Her mama and I talked a lot during her session, which meant it was a long shoot for Effie. But, you would never know it. She gave me all kinds of smiles and sweet faces!
The blue eyes are just stunning. Just like her mama's...who hopped in a few photos with her favorite little gal! I love when moms want to get in front of the camera with their kids. It is so important to have pictures of mamas with her little ones to look back on years down the road.
We incorporated Mom's wedding veil in a set up. Megan wanted to do something sentimental as part of Effie's one year photos and I love this unique touch, especially since it has such a sweet story to go along with it!
Effie's Grandma actually bought the veil in Spain before her OWN wedding! She wore it on her wedding day and then passed it along to Megan who also wore it on her wedding day. One day this veil will be passed down to Effie, and hopefully she will want to wear it on her own wedding day!
For Mother's Day, Megan gave her mom a framed collage that included a photo of her mom Cindy on her wedding day in the veil, a photo of herself wearing the veil the day she was married and the larger photo below of Effie smiling wearing the veil they both wore. I love including special heirlooms into sessions and this is a nice twist on the wedding dress with babies idea.
Happy first birthday to Effie!
Would you believe Ms. Josephine wasn't sure what to think about the studio, the camera OR me? She hung tight to her mama for a good portion of the time, but we snuck in some fun and got a few smiles.
This farm girl had to get some photos with the John Deere peddle tractor. It's become a favorite prop with a lot of clients with kids! It's also my son's and he is nice enough to share with me. Although, he did ask for me to bring it home the other day because it's getting warmer and he "probably wants to drive it around the barn and help with chores".
Happy first birthday, sweet Joey! You are one loved little lady!
Doesn't Bennett's eyes just slay you? So gorgeous. Speaking of gorgeous, how much does my camera love this kid? A lot. And I have the photos to prove it.
Bennett sat so well for being just six months old and made my job so easy. I love when babies stare right into the camera. I feel like you can really connect with the photo and see into their sweet, little souls. And this guy, he sure has a sweet soul!
Can you get over those curly locks? I cannot! I thought he had a head full of curls at his six month session, but boy oh boy, this makes those curls look like amateur hour. Ha!
Bowden was such a good little guy during his portrait session at the new studio. I incorporated some props from his six month pictures for fun, like the antlers and vintage pick up truck toy. After a lot of little girl sessions lately, it was fun to design some sets for a little guy!
Happy first birthday, Bowden!
I suppose I should have titled this "Somebunny is 1" instead, huh?
But, seriously. How ah-dorable is little Tenley!? She was such a sweetie to work with and I enjoyed her Cake Smash and One Year session so much! Her birthday theme was "SomeBUNNY Is One", so I did a couple set ups to go along with that so her parents could display the images at her upcoming party!
She wasn't as thrilled about her cake and had about zero interest in touching it, let alone smashing it. Can't say I blame her though...I hate when my hands get dirty! We got some super sweet photos of little Tenley and I'm so excited with how they turned out!
Happy first birthday, sweet gal!
Baby Koen has arrived and he is as cute as can be! I have waaaaay too many favorites from his newborn session. I love when Mom and Dad jump in front of the camera. I regret not getting in more pictures with my kids when they were newborns because time flies by and they change so much those first few weeks and months. So, I was thrilled that Koen's mom and dad wanted some pictures done with their new little man.
Both parents are nurses, so I had them bring a stethoscope with them to add a little special touch to a few of Koen's pics. I'm thrilled with how they turned out and plan on using the stethoscope for all of Koen's Grow with Me Bundle sessions! Such a fun way to see how he has grown!
